Today, I interviewed Dr. Hwang Kyuseok from Homme & Femme Plastic Surgery.\nAs the founder of the Rhinoplasty Research Institute, he has dedicated himself to training younger surgeons and has pioneered new approaches in rhinoplasty for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Me: Dr. Hwang, thank you for gladly agreeing to this interview.\nDr. Hwang: I should be the one thanking you. Please take good care of me today.\nMe: I\u2019m curious about Homme & Femme\u2019s implant\u2011free rhinoplasty.\nDr. Hwang: Simply put, the nose can be made beautiful using only our natural tissues.\nBut in Korea, it is still common to insert implants to shape the nose.\nMany people with wide nostrils, bulbous tips, or large noses try to reduce their nose size by inserting implants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, a patient came for a consultation.\nI told her, \u201cIt\u2019s possible without implants.\u201d\nBut she eventually had surgery elsewhere, only to return to us for revision surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For nostril reduction, large nose correction, and Asian\u2011type low bulbous noses,\nthe belief 20 years ago was that \u201crhinoplasty is impossible without implants.\u201d\nI began promoting implant\u2011free rhinoplasty back in 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The early days of implant\u2011free rhinoplasty\nI kept saying,\n\u201cPlease don\u2019t insert implants. You don\u2019t need them. You can raise the nose without them.\u201d\nBut at that time, most people responded,\n\u201cWhat are you talking about?\u201d \u201cThat\u2019s impossible.\u201d\nIt was a lonely journey.\nBut after 20 years, people are finally beginning to understand.\nEven though it was frustrating, I continued presenting at conferences and sharing my findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is a photo from the 2013 San Diego Plastic Surgery Conference,\nwhere I became the first in the world to present a method for correcting the most difficult type of nose \u2014 the low, large Asian nose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Establishing the technique\nBy 2026, as the technique spread, it finally gained recognition.\nNow, implant\u2011free rhinoplasty is widely known,\nand the representative technique is our Diamond Tip Correction Method.\nNatural\u2011looking nose tips are trending these days,\nand our technique has become loved by many patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
